It was 1962, when Andres Mendiola Zabala set up his family business project as an abrasive producer for the surface processing in Asua-Erandio (Bizkaia). The innovative abrasive product in the domestic market comes from the cooper smelting waste and it is this new production, that is taking over the traditional abrasive the silica sand, in all main usages, due to being health harmless (it is silica free and therefore does not induce to silicosis) as well as a productivity enhancer while keeping a better price.
In 2014, Abrasivos Mendiola goes a step further integrating Asua Blast into his team as a logistic operator.
